How to Plan a Great Corporate Event

We had to make sure that there was no value to be placed on the play money. Florida law defined Gambling as any activity where a player had an opportunity to win something for a small remuneration. So we had to make sure that the play money had absolutely no value. We also could not display any prizes in the room or provide any form of prize listings. Finally, we would make all the guests exit the room to a desert function in another room where we would display the prizes and conduct a drawing from the tumbler taken from the main event room.

OK, this was the rules we had to operate under to make sure we complied with what we were advised would not violate the existing laws.

So based on Florida’s new sensitivity on what was going on in Dade County attempt to get legalized gambling we felt we were in good shape. Another thing we would never do was rent our equipment out to a client without our personnel and supervision

Every once and awhile we would get a potential client who would want to make the play money have value. We would always refuse to provide the event. I mention this as there was a time when I got a call from a gentleman who said he was with the Sportsman Club of Orlando which was a well-known club located not far from our warehouse. We set a time for an appointment the following day and when he showed up he had another Gentleman with him. They said that they wanted to host a gaming party and wanted to rent our equipment for the event.

A corporate event is an excellent opportunity to foster a sense of community within your company. It can also be a great way to promote a new product or show your customers or clients what you’re all about. These types of events can be informative and they can be a whole lot of fun. However, there’s a lot that goes into planning a great corporate event. Organizing is key. Here are a few tips to help you plan a successful corporate event.

Set a Budget

One of your very first steps in planning a corporate event is to determine your budget. You want to have a great event, but you don’t want to go broke in the process. Setting a specific budget will help you to stay on track, helping you to avoid overspending. When determining your budget, you can allocate set amounts for the different things that you need, including venue, entertainment, food, activities, and others.

Determine the Purpose of the Event

What’s the purpose behind hosting your event? Are you having a conference or trade show? Are you hosting a dinner to recognize employees? Are you focusing on corporate team building? Or are you focusing on launching a new product and introducing it to your customers? Knowing the purpose of your event will help you to stay on track and make sure that the event stays relevant to the attendees.

Choose a Theme and Activities

A theme might not sound all that necessary, but it’s an essential component of planning an event. It helps to create buzz and helps to tie your event together. It helps to make your event exciting and memorable. There are plenty of creative event themes that you can find online or you can come up with your own. Once you’ve picked your theme, you’ll want to decide on the corporate event activities. Depending upon the type of event you’re planning, these might be company team building activities, activities just for fun, or informative activities such as panels or discussions.

Pick a Venue

The venue is an important aspect of planning an event. You want to make sure it’s large enough to hold your attendees and that it can accommodate your event’s needs. The venue should be accessible and a place that your attendees will appreciate. When choosing a venue, make sure to keep your budget in mind. Get quotes from a few different venues so you can compare costs with what they offer.

Get the Word Out

Once you’ve secured your event and chosen a day, it’s time to get the word out. There are plenty of ways in which you can do this. You can promote the event on your website, send out emails, and create buzz on social media platforms. Creating a buzz about your event early on can help to generate plenty of excitement before the event even begins.
