From the previous episode, I explained that we did not rent our equipment out. I explained that we had several different gaming themes but they had to be produced with our staff in order to ensure that event complied with Florida Law. They then launched into their desire to use the equipment and their personnel to host the event. To this, I explained we would not be interested in working with them unless we had total control of the event and ended the meeting. They left and that was what I thought would be the last time I would see them.
About a year later I was at home when I got a call from Mike Schultz who was my Strike Director who was striking a Monti Carlo event who had produced for a client at the Hyatt. He told me that he and the crew had been arrested for possession of gambling equipment and needed me to come down to the Orange County jail and bail them out. Of course, I raced to the jail to bail everyone out. When I arrived I was then arrested for owning and possessing gambling equipment. The rest of the crew was released and only Mike and I were held and charged. At this point, I got a hold of my attorney to get us released. Which happened quickly but they did seize my truck and equipment saying that it was gambling equipment and that they were entitled to confiscate the vehicle and its content.
The success of your company rests on your employees. In order for your company to thrive, they need to work together. This makes teamwork incredibly important. But you can’t just put a group of individuals in a room and expect them to work well together. Corporate team building is essential if you want your employees to be able to work effectively with one another. Here are a few benefits of building an effective team in the workplace.
Improve Productivity and Efficiency
A good team is able to implement teamwork strategies to achieve company goals. The workload is shared between teammates, taking pressure off of each individual and allowing them to achieve goals within a specific timeframe. Because of this, your team becomes more efficient and more productive, which can be a major benefit to your bottom line.
Generate New Ideas
Working together on a project can encourage teammates to share their ideas, which can help to greatly improve individual as well as team knowledge. Your employees may feel inspired, and come up with ideas they might never have been able to think of if they were working alone. This type of idea generation also makes ideas visible, allowing all members to see the work everyone is putting in.
Gain New Perspectives
In addition to generating new ideas, your employees gain the benefit of being able to look at things in a whole new perspective. Team members can learn from one another and look at situations through a completely different lens. Everyone can better analyze different situations to achieve the best results possible.
Let Employees Play to Their Strengths
Everyone has their own unique strengths. Corporate team building activities help everyone learn what their strengths are, as well as what the strengths of their teammates are. An effective team can divide up tasks that allow each member to play to their specific strengths. This can make the whole project feel much less stressful and go much more smoothly.
When your team is able to work well together, it promotes a sense of unity. A great team environment aids in fostering camaraderie, and friendship. This closeness encourages teammates to support one another, cooperate with one another, and work harder. The whole environment becomes much more harmonious.
Make Work More Enjoyable
When your employees are able to work together in harmony, this type of environment makes work much more enjoyable. Work becomes less stressful and more fun. Your employees can become friends and be inspired by one another. Happy employees are a key factor in improving productivity. Consider hosting a few corporate team building events to help foster a sense of community amongst your employees and build an effective team.
